A Chippendale Carved Cherrywood Birdcage-Action Tilt and Dished Top Compressed Ball Tea Table

Pennsylvania, Circa 1760

refinished.
together with two birdcage-action tilt and dished top candlestands.

Height 28 1/4 x width 24 x depth 23 1/2 inches.

Property from the Collection of Mr. R. Neall Distad, Cleveland Heights, Ohio

Condition
Each in overall fine and stable condition. Each retains a fairly even patina and surface, though each likely refinished. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use.  The two examples with compressed balls likely have replaced tops, evidence includes the finish to the underside and lack of any tool marks to the underside of each.  The example with the vase from standard is likely original. The two compressed ball examples have age cracks through their tops.  Each retaining the donut and two with their wedges, one lacking.
